How do you deal with a rude person?

As everyone said, just ignore them. It's never really worth it to be rude, you'll get nothing out of it.

Well, if they were rude I'd usually just try my best to ignore them since it's not worth my time.

Working in retail, I've always just tried my best to just give the rude person what they want so I can be done with them for the day then vent about it for a moment to a friend.

I try not to waste my energy on people who are rude to me for no reason. Then again if it's a comp game and they're trying to call me out on something stupid I might defend myself.

What would you do if they were being rude to a family member? would you stay out of it or then stand up?
