For months now I've been trying to cope by playing video games and watching movies online with friends but as of late that's just not enough, anxiety keeps rising and I become more and more unmotivated. What are you guys doing to cheer yourselves up?

Actually, I try to go outside as often as I can so long as I can avoid other people during this pandemic. I'm a website developer so I tend to focus on coding a lot which keeps my mind off things but when I feel down I usually try to find some funny vids on YouTube or I load up a game that will make me laugh like Among Us or 60 Seconds because in those games anything can happen and usually what happens is so ridiculous that it makes you laugh.

The best solution would be this: Go to an appointment with a psychologist, and try to solve the problem already.
If everything turns out so that you can't, or don't want to go, then: Find a hobby, although it sounds simple, but is still the most effective way not to think about other things.

Honestly the only semi-positive thing about this pandemic for me is I've actually started taking my anti-psychotics/anti-depressants regularly enough that I don't even have to lie to my doctor about it anymore. So I guess that's helped me cope, but aside from that I just try and stay busy and/or distracted. If you don't give yourself time to dwell on things, then the reality of one's situation has a hard time sinking in

Well, you will have more time to your family so what you need to prioritze is to spend more time with them and build emotional connections so that once you get depresison attacks, you know who to go to and release that stress.

definately look into doing something other than what you do currently, take up a new hobby etc
