How do you increase your reputation?

I see around the forums some people have like +7 reputation and others have maybe -5. What does reputation mean and how can you get it to go up/down?

You most probably have to be upgraded in order to be able to give reputation

You can rep by people giving you rep. Nothing else.

Easiest way is just making friends and helping out the community.

no, you don't need to be upgraded to get rep. But, you do need to be upgraded to give rep.

Reputation is like the notoriety of the internet. You'll accumulate it if people think your content is good.

Most important thing is to help newbie. I think. Try to help some newbie. And your reputation will increase very fast.
