How does one become a hacker?

How should I start to learn hacking and what are the prerequisites, like programming languages, networking, OS, etc.? Is it a must to have knowledge of Java, PHP, or some others of these types?

Endless endless learning. Study the ^*** out of various types of code, and also take some courses on ethics. A hacker without any idea where to draw the line is just a moron waiting to go to jail.

Some colleges have classes on Cyber security, which I imagine can teach some things about it.

If you wanna become a hacker, it is the best to simply learn programming as a whole first on specific languages before then going into learning exploits.

Exploits and Vulnerabilities are important as they allow you to be able to exploit something to get something out of it.

Googling and watching youtube videos on exploits such as a basic MySQL Injection can help you and test it on some ol garbage site.

You need to be smart and patient and read all programming languages cuz that's helps

Dont get me wrong, windows is a great operating system for most users, but not for a hacker. If you never used Linux before, consider the CompTIA Linux+ course, it would be a very good start.

Most servers and networks are working in some sort UNIX based OS.
Almost all powerful hacking tools works on Linux.
