How long until you were confident in editing?

I just recently started making GFX designs for fun on photoshop, but seeing things like anime edits spiked another interest. I soon want to learn how to use programs like After Effects, but how long did it take you advanced editors to feel confident and knowledgeable with your work and the software?

The time required to get confident will be relative to how much time you dedicate to learning.

A person putting in 8 hours a day to hone his editing craft will get better faster than someone just editing 1 hour a day.

I use photoshop since 2013, as a kid, and today its ones of my work tools and in still not confident to use! Everyday we learn something new
