How to Grow a GMOD Community

So, I just wanted a thread so people who have and or are currently running a GMOD Community to let people know what you did right or your tips on starting from scratch with almost no players?

How do they grow how do you take the player opportunity and become something better?

The best way at the beggining is a lot of spam and try to be a good guy xd

A lot of spam?? No that's just really annoying and I don't think that will get you very far.

Best way to start a succesfull community is having custom content, gamemodes addons or w/e
Make it unique give players a reason to join ur server

Like DarkAngelAMagic said that's been the only way in my experience. Though I can't vouch for the method completely, as I have no experience with running a huge community, just a bunch of failures...

No, just no. People hate spam. You join someone else's server "COME JOIN MY SERVER 10/10 CONTENT - IP" that'll make you look desperate. Make friends in that server then bring them over, don't spam it's honestly so annoying. + On forums, websites, server lists. No one likes spamming. Just make friends, make sponsors with companies(game hosting etc) just try publishing skills

DarkAngelAMagic should be right, but it's not like that anymore, sadly.

Learn Lua, buy a server, join the server everyday as early as you can, give the kids what they want (basically sandbox called darkrp), buy lots of addons from scriptfodder / gmodstore / idk anymore and make sure to sell admin, mod, vip, vip+ etc. :peace:
