I have used compressed air and earbuds but it seems restricitve on the amount of dust it removes. Anyone reccommend a better way as my pc over heats and the fans have become louder?

Hi

Remove the cooler from the processor and change the thermal paste.

As the previous poster mentioned, if you remove the cooler (even better if you can remove the fan), you can then clean it really well with a cloth. If your fans are making a lot of noise now than in the past even after cleaning them, you may need to oil the bearings of the fan.

Also, yes, there is a chance you may need to change the thermal paste because it can dry up but that usually happens after many years (5-10+) though I haven't replaced my thermal paste in 8 years here and my temperatures are still pretty good (depends on the thermal paste quality).

I used an air compressor machine to clean the fans of my PC (overkill) but very effective.

Dismount the heatsink and clean it with a brush. Do it outside, you don't want to inhale all the micro particulate you are gonna to move up in the air

Like the previous comments, on the other hand if you still have overheating, think maybe to change the fan

Some CPU fans are just loud overall, like others have said, you might just have to get a new CPU fan if you want it quieter

Ventilation slots located around the laptop help air circulate. Dust and dirt also through these slots cling to the heat sink in the laptop, making it difficult for air to circulate and heat is not released. This is one of the reasons why the computer heats up and crashes. Therefore, cleaning dust helps the computer operate more efficiently.
