You can go through y=12 with f3, if you mine you will find something

find caves, go deep inside and have torches on you, caves are the best option in my opinion

legit method: go caving and try to find a lava lake or mine at layer 12

Doing so will clear out a strip of the mine; as you dig, make sure you're looking for diamonds in the ceiling and floor as well.

• You'll repeat this process until your whole main tunnel has been expanded, then dig further and repeat as necessary.
  
• Make sure to dig around the ores in case there's lava. Sometime ores will have lava behind it. If you find lava behind the ore, use non-flammable blocks to stop the flow of lava.

I usually try to make a strip mine at level 12 underground and easily find them.

Download a cheat and use xray and also dont mine straight down!

Go to the diaper where you can find diamond or go to install x-ray and you find diamond in 0.1 second: D

Diamond is very easy to find go to 11 lvl and just mine you need iron pickaxe
