How was pubg after free access?

I played pubg 2 years ago but I decided to uninstall it and I wonder if the game is still as good as it was before, especially after it became free to play.

it's still the same pubg, that's the problem, time goes by, and the game stands still, there are new maps, weapons, skins, but the game feels the same

The game hasn't changed much. Not my personal preference but the game is alright

PUBG became infected with cheaters and exploiters when it became free. It's still a decent game though.
