This anime is absolutely god awful, for any number of reasons. (Heck even the author said that it was far from as good as it could be.)

It sold more than Naruto, Black Clover, FMAB (and more)? I severely doubt so. That aside, name one good thing about SAO aside from the art style, animation and music. (As that is purely subjective.)

Great series to get into, if you're new to Anime then I'd also advise to check out Death Note Smile

It is not the first, nor is it the best anime that has used that setting. (Overlord and Log Horizon are both better). Aside from that, the setting that was Sword Art Online (game) was good for the simple reason that it had tension. Then it lost that, and moved over to a setting that is (by the words of fans) a horrid existence in comparison. That and 90% of the story makes no sense, Kirito is the most selfish and nonsense character in the history of modern anime.

I'd advise reading Death Note over watching it, the ending in the manga is far better and the extra chapter is funny as well.

While being not the first nor the best it's still considered a good anime due to the setting. It doesn't matter if it's the first or best, the setting is what it makes good.
You could also consider this anime as a starter anime, for people who want to get into anime. Thus it's also considered as good, because if it's one of the first anime you watch it just can be good (Compared to the 1-2-3 other animes that you might have watched as a starter)

Idk if you get what I mean my brain is fking me atm so I can't explain it at all <_>

SAO was one of my earlier anime that I actually completed. (So you can, by all means view it as a starter anime for me, at least in that genre.) That being said, it is a horrible starting anime. The characters are terribly written, the story is a mess, the setting is lacking half-way in and the logic of the series is beyond terrible. Its a mindless anime, and a anime that shouldn't be recommended. Heck the author randomly threw it out on the internet because he didn't care and it wasn't even finished. Didn't stop some greedy people from milking it thin.

Yes you're right and all but barely, really barely, someone who is starting anime does know/care about that stuff. Later on you realize it's shit.

Btw, did you saw jigoku shoujo

You're talking about milking it, but then there's Naruto, which is literally trash and still getting milked? :yus:
