I dont undertstand crypto

Why is crypto so weird and sometimes its so much worth and another time its like nothing worth? I dont get it

If currency cryptos are constantly increasing, it is simply because their value depends directly on the number of users and the number of investors, which stops growing or decreasing.

Cryptocurrenices are unstable and changes depends on the amount of people using it, the exchanges that exchanges it, the miners that mines those and bring more cryptocurrencies into the world and more...

I would like to add to this, regular (fiat *eye roll*) currencies are also traded and invested in, by many more people than crypto, the reason their prices arent as volatile is because a lot more people by comparison use them for transaction, therein "cementing" their value. Look at it this way, a dollar can allways buy me a coffe, so its worth a coffe to me, an X-coin on the other hand generally doesn't have as meany real world uses, so the value i see in it is its potential to one day cost way more. A small change in X-coin price is likely to influence that perception, and therein make people either mass buy or mass sell.

Ps: I realize this is a somehwat lacking charecterization and that theres a lot more at play, but it should give a basic idea why something like bitcoing acts so "strange" compared to stocks and fiat currencies

It is because of demand and supply.

When demand goes up price increases and supply increases
When demand goes down price decreases and supply decreases.

In previous days because of bitcoin was praised in news its demand got up because of hype and its price was up. Now the hype and demand is less so the price is less.

I don't know much about crypto currencies but I think its all about supply-demand like most stuff. I don't understand why they vary in prices so often though.

Just think about crypto like stocks but having a technology behind it. Pretty much the simplest way of telling one.
