I need help for a Star Wars debate (first trilogy vs. second and third)

My bestfriend is in love with the last Star Wars trilogy and I can't explain it. Those 3 movies seems so empty to me.

So which trilogy is your favorite? The first one (IV, V, VI), the second one (I, II, III) or the third one (VII, VIII, IX) ?
