As everyone said: start investing low on secondary cryptomoney. It's less risk if you throw in $100 spread across different currencies.
I'd suggest starting with XRP/Ripple, it is the most accessible and it might fluctuate in the future. I would avoid BTC at all, maybe (with doubts) few ETH cents
