I wanted to know why Gintama rules half of Anilist and Myanimelist top 10's, so I bin

I started the show 3 weeks ago (I was in quarantine, so I didn't have to work) and finished episode 202 an hour ago.

The ride wasn't smooth, but I expected this, since everyone knows that Gintama has a slow beginning.

I will write down my journey from 1 to 201 because 201 marks the end of the 4:3 Gintama. Beware: this post will be a bit long.

I started from episode 1. It was confusing as hell and turned me off. Later I found out that the first two eps are fillers, poor me. Episode 3 was alright, Gintoki had an interesting introduction and the comedy sometimes can be funny, the animation is mediocre, but okay this is the beginning.
