Select AAA game studios are already using 4.26 for full production and several marketplace assets now support 4.26. Nuanced specifics usually depend on the project in question but there are useful features that were added in 4.26 so should be worth at least looking through the 4.26 release notes and considering testing in 4.26 or checking out any new applicable features to justify the trouble before completely migrating.

If you're running an older project the main thing I'd say is to check all your plugins support 4.26 in the marketplace or try upgrading them yourself. Otherwise be sure to backup your project.

I don't know why you're thinking otherwise, but 4.26 is production ready long ago. If it's not in alpha/beta/preview/testing then it means it's ready.
As for assets almost all have been updated. The only one's I noticed weren't updated are some VR assets which are more likely deprecated.
I've also noticed many assets not having backward compatibility with 4.25

older UEs never good.

that's a big no no in my opinion unless there is a well-known issue with it

wasn't aware of this, but I will say that you should maybe consider waiting until these issues are 100% addressed. I haven't had any of these problems though weirdly.
