From the beginning of the iPhone, it seems that iPhones has been often getting harder to repair along with several other products (including iMac Pro) that the Genius Bar seems to now screw up on the repairs.

Since they made it harder to repair, they knew that most products couldn't be repaired, putting them as the only one able to resolve the issue.
There is also catch-22 to this for newer devices, both the devices are getting more and more harder to repair and the quality of the repair are getting worse to the point that the Genius Bar couldn't even fix an iMac Pro (Most likely due to negligent) without creating another issue (Making the stand unusable).

There is also another video that's contradicting most of this repair prices and flaws by Louis Rossman, which he said that Apple is "apparently" making repairs from them more viable and cheaper.

What areyour thoughts?

(If some stuff aren't accurate, please correct me as I'm just listening to what people said on YouTube)

I repair many apple devices, few MacBooks though (our senior tech does those).

iPhones 5 through 8 plus are easy fixes in many areas. Screens are a breeze Batteries are easy to replace, just have to be careful not to puncture. Both front and rear camera are easy, as well as chargeports. The camera flash assembly is a bit painful as you have to remove mother board and gut out the phone to replace the cable that holds flash, mute slider, volume and power button. Small stuff like ear speaker is easy too.

Newer iPhones like X, Xs Max, and XR get a bit more complicated for screen replacements, but they are doable. Battery replacements are not too bad.

As far as them getting better repair wise, it's been pretty neutral.

Apple intends to fix certain parts of phones so they have to make it repairable to some degree anyways ya know. But at the same time they always give people used/refurbished phones when something manufacturer wise is wrong with your device, so maybe repairability will get shittier in the future. Who knows.

IMHO They just want the phone to be difficult so you do not do it yourself (losing them money if you succeed) or go to some small repair shop which will charge a fraction of what they will.

Yeah, they just want the phone to be as difficult to repair so you will buy another one instead of even trying to fix it.

Apple lacks a lot of things but as a developer I can stand with them and say its not easy trying to fix algorithms in the code to make it any better..

I've never had an iPhone but every time I see my friends get a new one, I'm blown away by the camera. As far as Macbooks go I'm still waiting for a Pro model that's at least as beefy as they were before the touchbar was added. :/

Some days I trust them and some days I feel like something bad could go wrong

Off corse not!

Apple is on the moment that they know that they will sell anything. No matter if the product is revolutionary or a simple update. That happens because there are people so interested in Apple even that they have nothing to sell.
