Is Crypto investing risky or profitable?

I'm thinking of investing around $3,400 USD into a mining rig that should make me about half a bitcoin per month.

id put in as much market research as possible for this kind of thing, people seem to have an unrealistic idea that BitCoin will always be on the rise, but that is not always the case, sure it may peak again but nobody really knows, its all about knowing what your investing in. Learn the trends and see if its really worth the investment. Just remember that you'll be shedding out extra for the massive amounts of electricity you'll be using whilst mining, calculate that into the equation and check potential profits, may not be what it seems.

well if you talking about profit then you have to take risk because no risk no gain , its risky ofc but if you do it properly and have patience then you will get huge profits , its still gamble though.

From my point of view it can be profitable but that depends a lot on the coin that you choose to invest your money in

mining btc is risky af, its hard getting your money back before difficulty increase. i doubt you can earn half a bitcoin with 3500$ investment into GPU
