Is Garry's Mod still alive in 2021?

Is it still worth getting the game in 2021 or is it dead?

As someone from Australia I feel as though Gmod is...well...idk it feels dead. You used to have such choice, and now it's just a few dominant servers with the rest of the list all being US.

As for someone in the US though, well I can't say they'd have a bad time...seems like they have a lot of variety still. I guess the taste of gamemodes have changed over the years though.

I would say yes, as i still didnt found any alternative to it... still enjoy DarkRP, TTT or Prophunt servers

Dev-wise, it's been updated so there's that. Player wise, according to steam charts the average monthly players has been consistently between ~25k - ~30k a month since 2013. This past january it's seen 28k players, which is the most it has had since August last year.

Dead? Not really. Alive? Has it ever *been* alive? Certainly not GTA alive, but alive in its own way.

As for the CIS, Garry's Mod is half dead. Like alive, but like not. But in Russia, where he is 100 percent alive.

The game is still alive, you can do almost anything in it, from time to time we go with friends and have fun.

I think it's still pretty lively, I haven't really ever known gmod for being dead since i started playing it.
