Is Gary's mod dead?

No Garry's Mod is one of those gems everyone comes back to from time to time.

it is dying, of course. but i hope there will be a game to replace it

GMod is not dead by any means, but, the userbase has certainly decreased for multiple reasons. The two major ones I can think of off the top of my head are just people growing out of the game and a decrease in performance and server longevity as people load piles of addons onto barely-running setups without any tweaking.

Server longevity is decided primarily on user-friendliness and survivability of Source's schizophrenia, both of which usually require better hosting solutions, proper optimizations, and competence from staff. The larger active servers from what I've seen either run higher-tier VDS at various companies or some sort of bare-metal solution like I'm planning on doing

Well Gmod had its golden times but Idk if I would call it alive tbh

i mean... the french took over. good luck finding an american server (which isnt full of french kids)

yeah gmod is dying, EU servers took over ;-;

More and more players are leaving the gmina, but there are still people and it is possible to play relatively well

No garris mod is growing and thriving.. although many dark rp servers have died...
Well, they will be replaced by new ones with new mechanics and so on. Garrys Mode will live for sure in the next 30 years
