It was in my opinion never profitable, you can just buy bitcoin when price is low or farm them but you pay more money for power then that you invest so

In my opinion, it can be good if your energy prices are very small...

currently bitcoin mining by hardware is seeming non profitable, i have hard of mining by software on a distributed network but not sure how profitable that can be...
