Lots of people have lost a lot of money on bitcoin too. If you can make money using bitcoin that's one thing, but I don't think the average person's best bet is to just invest in BTC and hope the value goes up.

Lots of people have lost a lot of money on bitcoin too. If you can make money using bitcoin that's one thing, but I don't think the average person's best bet is to just invest in BTC and hope the value goes up.

The profits have to outweigh the money it costs to power the machine that you use for cryptomining. Energy in germany is so expensive that cryptomining in germany is basically dead these days. What country do you live in? What are the energy prices there? If your country relies highly on eco-energy then the chance is very high that the energy prices are too high to make crypto mining sustainable for you. If your country uses nuclear energy / coal, you'll likely make quite a profit if you mine with the right equipment; namely that would be a number of 2k series graphics cards.
