I have been thinking about renting a server for a long time and yesterday i got myself a 24-hour trial and i would like to know if you guys think it's worth it.

Renting a server is certainly worth it. Aslong as you have the enthusiasm, knowledge and money to purchase scripts that can gain more players for you. Your server will become popular in no-time.

No i have found it not worth it because most server providers do not help you as well as you think they will most of you would just go and buy one not even know what you are getting yourself into
also they dont keep their servers upto date and they dont follow gerneral guide line as stated
so i just resorted to learning coding and hosting my own

Depends on your number of players and the type of server, a RP server should always work best by renting a server, no lag and faster connection speed. For a murder or small gamemode, you could always host it by yourself, and just open it up at times or with your friends.

Good Idea but i dont think it is that profitable . for some amount of money it may be but not for long run

If you make a good server from it and gain a lot of users that donate to you. Then yes, it will benefit you a lot.

It depends on a couple things.
Game mode
Experience
Player Slots

The game mode you choose is one thing. You have to like the game mode you choose or you will get board and just be wasting money on a unused server.

Your experience is also something pretty important. If you don't know what your doing or don't have the patience to figure it out it's not worth it.

Depending on your game mode your recommended player slots will differ. If your doing a party game mode like Prop Hunt, Deathrun ETC, you should only need about 15-25 slots. If your doing an RP like Darkrp recommended would be 40-50 slots. If your doing like a MilitaryRp or PoliceRp I would recommend 60-80 slots as you probably should use a fairly large map.

Start with server-host. Watch your community grows (hope it will) and from there make your decisions. Server - Hosting should be your top priority since you need a community to start renting servers.

Most definetly since it has no commitment beyond that 1 month and is useful for various different things

Only worth it if you really "love community of your server, probably in the first months you will lose money
