Is there a noticeable difference between DDR3 & DDR4 RAM?

I still just use DDR3 as I can't support DDR4 on my current mobo. I read it's faster but, I never really heard and first hand accounts of a difference in speed. Did you notice it when you switched? I'm curious to know as I would like to upgrade soon.
