I would say Java but the biggest problem on Java is the poor optimization

Java all the way. Its has a lots of mods even though play with friend is kinda hard but worth it.
Life is strange... that's all

Java is stable and better for developers. More flexible customization.

JAVA ALL THE WAY!! Don't get me wrong, Bedrock is nice and has some features exclusive to it. However, in my opinion Java is more superior. Bedrock is extremely glitchy for being somewhat new, yet they want to push it on every platform because of it's 'versatility' with cross play, but in reality I believe Microsoft wants to push it out because of Bedrock's monetary value. It has micro transactions that can be used in so many various ways... not only that, but it severely limits the players capability on what they can do with their game client. I would MUCH rather prefer to NEVER have to pay for resource packs or shader packs if I want to... I know this is just my opinion, and both have their pros and cons respectively.

if you only care about vanilla minecraft and performance then bedrock is the best choice. If you want to have mods, raytracing shaders (without actual nvidia rtx) or modded servers then java is way better but the more things you are adding the more performance heavy it gets

Java edition no contest. Bedrock is so laggy and it feels like its just a rtx showcase.

I always play in Java because it has more features, as well as the ability to put mods
