unfortunately gaming on what you call Linux is a fricking hassle because of sound and graphics issues on games initially designed for Windows. steam is trying to make it work, not the topic but that sucks a bit x) if i were not a gamer i'd definitely choose a GNU/Linux distro like Debian, better if every way excepting video and sound working, but i'm a goddamn gamer so i use goddamn windows :'(

All systems are good in their own way.

Linux. Almost all servers are working on this system.
Windows. The preferred system for most games.

Well, there are also a bunch of other operating systems with their pros and cons. Each his own

Was using Windows for more than 10 years and I loved it. I was always anti-Apple until I had to buy a Macbook laptop for work... that changed my opinion dramatically. Now I use OSX for work (Windows for work is soooo blah for me now... totally not worth it) and Windows for gaming.
Also running windows (bootcamp) on Macbook made it the best Windows laptop that I've ever ownerd haha.

I use MAC in college because thats all they use for video editing, Windows at home because it's what I was brought up on, and Ubuntu Server for my streaming server setup. Its easy to configure NginX on and it uses less resources

Using all of them for various tasks. Mostly running windows on my machines to get work done, browsing, gaming, programming, rendering, office stuff, etc. Macbook I used for university stuff and some special programs as there was no competitor in battery life at comparable price range only double the price from Dell with lousy support. It was nice at first but got worse with every update in my opinion, still one of the fastest OS. Linux running on server side for some central stuff with some VMs. Mostly as NAS currently and some streaming. Home Automation in future. Got some Suse, RedHat, Solaris, Ubuntu, Feodora, OpenBSD, FreeBSD etc. over the years but mainly now on good old Debian.

Windows has more support for everything but other platforms have advantages over it. Linux is more customizable but mac also has exclusives.

Windows for gaming and Linux for all my servers. Way safer and stable for servers.

But my windows is really stripped down...
