I'm wanting to get into hosting games and such for my community. But I don't if I should use Linux or Windows to host it off of, what should I do?

Depends on setup. Are you trying to host on the same machine you game on? Are you renting, do you have a secondary machine? If you're hosting for home, what's your network, etc.

Yes it is a setup question. I think for linux advanced users Linux is a beautiful enviroment for server stuff

+1 nedkross, Linux will forever be superior to Windows.

As far as gaming goes, there are more support for games on Linux dists. I've managed to port to Antergos while still being CS:GO player. Only thing I miss is Photoshop..

Linux is far more superior than windows But if you want to game well then you have no choice then windows is what you have to go with

i'm a linux user since 2007 , & i strongly recommand using it
windows is trash & always will be

Depending on a task, sometimes windows other times linux, unfortunately some things have no alternatives. But would like to see Linux getting even more share soon

+1 Linux but you need to know what you have to do. But there are many tutorials out there
If you want an easy setup System which is a bit more expensiv (less effective) choose Windows
