Lord of the Rings or Star Wars?

I've never been able to understand the hype around Star Wars in the first place but now that they're trying to milk the franchise for every cent its worth with all these new movies, it has completely lost its appeal for me. I'm glad thatThe Lord of the Rings was left as a standalone trilogy.

I've only watched the first Lord of the Rings movie, and barely remember it nor do I really care to finish watching it or the rest of them.

I only recently got caught up in the Star Wars universe, and was really really surprised at Rogue One, which was the one I had the least interest in watching and turned out to be my all-time favorite movie in the franchise.

The Mandalorian is pretty good for the two episodes that have come out so far

For me, it's Star Wars all the way, but that's mostly because I was exposed to it when I was really young and have been in love with the franchise ever since.
I never got to see lotr until I was in High School but they are easily in my top five movie franchises.

Formerly Star Wars, but with what they're doing to it lately I can confidently say LoTR is better.
