Glad I am not the only one lool!

What you are trying to do isnt hard, and is actually pretty easy.

You want to change it from horizontal postbit to Classic.

Go to admincp>Configuration>Settings>Show Thread Options

This is the proper tutorial, as I used this one myself too.
