the uid system is a gud one, but i like the idea of a quick mention on da post bit.

or aoki could add a little search bar when you go into the post editor where you can look up the first 3 letters of someones name then it'll give you there uid.

simple, whatever is in the quotation marks is the users name, and because the username is kept in the quotation marks, you can use spaces.

e.g @"Anthony Fantano" blah blah blah post

Could we just have an @ system where you type in a name and it brings up a list of autocomplete suggestions and you click the one you want and it automatically puts in their UID instead of their name?

That would solve both issues, you get auto completion and their UID.

I already said that when person start writing name it will show suggestion with name and uid and when he click the name it will changed to either name or wither @id..
