Minecraft 1.8 combat is better than the combat in later versions

#1 1.8 combat is so much more strategic. There is combos, block hitting, and it's much more fast paced. On the other hand 1.9 combat is more about who hits first and the timings are so slow combos are completely impossible. It's also pretty slow and boring and the timing mechanism is dumb. What do you think?
