I'm wondering if anyone here has ever heard of the Minecraft Roleplay community? It's quite niche, but it's incredibly fun. The basic premise is this:
You use Minecraft as a sandbox tool to construct a physical world within which to roleplay. Features within Minecraft allow for local-only chat within a certain block radius, resource packs like Conquest allow for a fantasy/medieval feel, and the flexibility of skins (and, with certain modification, HD skins) allow for reasonable depictions of your character.
A lot of people within the community take their roleplay seriously, which is nice, so it's not like the generic 12 year olds running around playing murder hobo.
I've been around within it for a few years, though it's not as big as it once was.
It'd be interesting to know if any of you have heard of it?
It depends which servers you come across. The community I've been in since early 2012 is a 'hardcore' community, meaning near everyone is an adult and RP at all times is enforced.
A lot of them also use tabletop systems (e.g D&D 5e) as methods of running the combat and such, which are positives and encourage better RP.
