Minecraft will live past 2020?

Yes, minecraft will live past 2020 because it will still having players, the number of players will increase every month, that's because the MC developers are making it better with every actualization, they're working pretty nice with it. It is like the GTA, COD or BF sagas, they're still alive 'cause the developers make 'em better with every version.

As its current status for being maintained partly by Microsoft, I don't think minecraft is going anywhere soon, even before the popularity rise it still have constant player base

I'd say probably, there's not a lot of games that come close to what minecraft really is, plus modded is always growing so you can turn the game into whatever you want. The only issue is how slow updates were coming out.

I think that the HyPixel's project Hytale will probably be the end of minecraft...

I hope so, especially if they release some more cool updates that add a load of new features without ruining the experience

Basing from what it's at at this point in time, probably since it's becoming relevant again..
