h as axes, shovels, or pickaxes, used to chop down trees, dig soil, and mine ores, respectively; e.g. tools made of iron perform their tasks more quickly than tools made of stone or wood and can be used more heavily before they break. Players can construct furnaces which can smelt food, process ores and materials, among others.[39] Players may also trade goods with villager NPCs through a bartering system involving trading emeralds for different good

If Microsoft gives minecraft a revamp with its current graphics, it'll survive, but its currently getting very stagnant with what's being offered. The only real perks are the servers that are creating very unique content to let their players use. Eventually minecraft will have to be remade into MineCraft 2.0 with more features and better customization.

Minecraft still has a lot to offer. Minigames, adventure maps, updates (even though they're slow to release), etc. Every time I play minecraft, it's never the same. So yes, minecraft will live till way after 2020. Even if I am the only player.

Why not? It's survived this long and people still play today. I doubt it'll die within the next 2 years.

Minecraft is one of those games that would've died years ago if it weren't for the community making their own content for the game. After playing the game for a few hours you quickly lose interest but installing a modpack makes it feel like you're playing a completely new game. Not to mention all the texture packs and shaders packs.
