What is the best modelling softwarei have been using sketch up but i want to know if there are any better ones out there i have heard of a few like 3d max and stuff but i dontknow if they are good

I learnt to use Solidworks during design school which was painful initially but I gradually picked it up. It's incredibly powerful if you know how to use it properly. I've never played around with any Autodesk stuff but I hear good things too.

3ds Max is a solid program and has been for years, Maya is also a powerhouse in not just modeling but is more suited to animation while still being able to hold its own in other aspects. My personal new favorite is Modo. It's incredibly smart and I recommend everyone interested to try it.
