I never really got into but I think I should, my friend showed me a clip where he fought some dude and had to break his finger to win which is pretty kickass.

I really like My Hero Academia. It's quite different from all other shounen, because the main character doesn't always win, and Deku isn't a silly person that win just by "brute force", he wins thanks to his deep analysis of situation, and he uses his analysis' skill in order to overcome his weaknesses, too.
Besides, BNHA wants to transmit a deep message, everyone is able to do whatever he wants, he just has to work hard and believe it. Minor spoiler (first episode, so it's not really a spoiler) : [ Deku was quirkless, and he wants to become a hero, but everyone thought it was impossible, and yet, he manages to begin his route to become a hero].

What I like in My Hero Academy is precisely the fact that the protagonist is not over power. which is very much in keeping with the theme of the same, since the purpose of the work is to show the path taken by Mydoria to become Super Hero Number 1.
Another thing that I like a lot is that even the epsodios stopped of the anime has importance for the history, therefore they manage to make a development of the characters very good.

naruto, suzuri and firifure nd i think the development of his character is what is catchin' people's attention.. i remember watching FMABH seeing the ethical and moral fight inside ed and alfonse and i can get this here.. in some way.. when he was saving that kid, kouta if im not wrong.. what to do, why to do, .. even the back stories are important.. not like some cartoons around there that fill the good part with non-sense fillers even the fillers here are amazing ones..

Most of my friends say that I should keep watching... should I? Is it really that good/promising?

well on the contrary I believe many people like it....

I also the way they develop each person from power to personality!!

it kinda progressive and not like skipping to OP mode!!

so yeah all I can say is I like it!
