I really like extra monitors, but the problem I have is the lack of money for 3 of Alienware's AW3420DW's or something along those lines, lol. I've got a 16 year old Dell D2405FPW that works great as a secondary monitor, a tertiary monitor is great too, for up on the wall to watch movies/etc.

I agree with OP. I've only really "needed" a single 144 hz. My second monitor is 60 hz.
While it does feel much more "choppy" compared to the 144hz and the colors look kinda washed out in comparison, it does the job just fine.
I don't think I'll ever go back to single monitor either. this is just way too useful, especially when coding or learning something over YouTube/other resources.

1 laptop and two extra monitors. It is mandatory to work correctly, having mail, docs / IDE and browsers at the same time. No problem with frequency as it is mostly for work. I do appreciate Retina quality from Apple though Smile

I don't see a reason for having more than 2 monitors honestly I use one for discord one for gaming or one for tutorials one for coding I never really do anything that requires 3 monitors. 2 monitors is the sweet spot.

I've tried different monitors at the same time and I have to say consistent experience is a big deal. So I'm using three same monitors seted up side-by-side.

I ended up getting two of the same monitors in the end. My ocd was really getting to me. I guess for some its not a big deal. Definitely saves you money.

Or just get a 49" screen and hook up a tablet as a second monitor. It works wonders.

i agree with OP
my main is a 34" ultrawide 120hz..
but my 2 side monitors are
- left: landscape mode 21" widescreen at 60hz
- right: portait mode 21" widescreen at 60hz

i only use the left and right for game assist (like websites with walkthroughs for the game i play, using right portait monitor - better for websites)
or if i need to see a video of the walkthrough for puzzle games (using the left landscape monitor - better for videos).
but neither 'needs' to be more than 60gz

If you are into networking stuff, you can never have enough monitors.
