I've been chatting with Senpai , and here are some things we've came across on how we can better Nulled. I'm just choosing things out of the conversation that I believe were important, Senpai might have a different view.

DISCORD

I believe by eliminating Nulled's discord, we can increase activity on the forum. Discord is a more convenient way to express yourself in words, images, videos, etc in an instant. So what's the point of making threads? We both felt discord was sucking some activity away. PMing is a thing of the past, threads are a thing of the past, forget it dude. Discord has virtually everything.

GROUPS

Let's face it, there's too many groups. With so many groups and little activity, you're going to see these things collect dust. Another problem their value. The less of something you have, the more valuable they become.

REWARD

Not talking about awards here, I'm talking about earning "stuff". I feel like this forum doesn't offer much in terms of rewarding the user. Something that your hard work will pay off for. For example, paying upgrades with credits. Monthly events and competitions won't do much because it's holding a bucket full of gold with people fighting over it. I feel like we need to focus on individual progress, so people have the feeling that their on a quest to make something of themselves, therefor allowing them to strive for different goals.

These are just some of the things we discussed. Again these are the way interpreted it, Senpai probably has another way of saying it. I suck at this stuff.

Also one last thing. The members including myself are responsible for this forum too. Activity wise. Everyone needs to play their part in reporting and posting. I've seen so manu upgraded members who log in that day, and 90% don't post.

Oh and the leechers. They play some sort of physiological part in terms of activity. To me though, it seems that the whole forum is "fake". For example, everytime you refresh, you see a new post made, no biggie right? It kinda makes people not post because hey, activity is good, plus I have nothing better to say. I see SO MANY good members log in but say nothing. We have the people, its just the people are not willing to put their part.

I completely agree; and I'm at fault with some of these things.
I'll try and post more in sectors, rather than just groups; and actually come back again instead of posting every few weeks and then leaving.

I also wanted to emphasize the idea of credits having an actual use.
I believe this was discussed previously before v3 had came out, but credits are pretty much useless.
It would be nice if there was something to put credits towards. Games to play, things to buy.

The discord thing is a big point to me.
Like we said, what is the point of going the extra way to make a thread or navigate the site for the sections to post these threads when you can just send everything via discord?
Like bubble said to me, its like implementing a live chat system to a forum site. All it is good for is drawing attention away from posting to the site and using the faster way to communicate.
And now that the discord is expanding on categories like having a music channel, why would anyone want to post a thread in the music section or the Harmony group when all they have to do is send a url in the #music chat?

And with users, I see them become really active, but only last for a week or so and then you barely ever hear from them again.

Those are just a few additional thoughts I wanted to throw out there.
I'll probably post more if I think of anything else.

The discord thing I fully agree with. I really raised my eyebrows when I joined and seen that aoki rejected the implementation of a shoutbox yet there was an official discord server. Any live chat dominates over regular posting in terms of convenience so it's to no surprise that HQ people just use the chat, while leeching bastards shitpost to up their credit count.

Though I can't really be the one to talk, I lurk here and in discord.

Discord: I don't agree. Two seperate things and not really compareable. I don't see how it affects activity so much.

Groups: I'd not say there are a lot of groups. There are just a lot of shit groups. Group owners simply set up an application thread, let me change the userbars and subforums a hundred times for the same result: getting inactive. After they went through the same pattern over and over again, group owners don't do shit. They always plan to do X and X, but in the end, nothing actually gets done.

What I also dislike about owners is, that every group owner pretty much accepts everyone who applies. I mean sure, we don't have that huge activity, but how do you want to make something special with value when everyone gets in so easily?

I don't even care in the slightest about groups anymore. I mean, just imagine being in my position. Taking time to change their whole group around for the same result. Would you bother? I don't think so.
I also planned and started developing a group control panel, but I dumped it since it's not worth my time to be honest.

Rewards: That's something I can agree on. As much as I'd like to implement new rewards etc, I'm seriously lacking ideas on this one. If you guys have any, let me know.

Credits: You can't do much with credits, that's completely true. I think adding some new games could work, but I don't want to turn everything too much into gambling, cause in the end, it's still a currency.

There's not a lot we can do about the situation except listening to suggestions and feedback, what we do.

My memory's a bit fuzzy but I remember reading something about user selectable profile borders? Don't remember which thread it was though. If I find it again I'll edit it in here.

Many members are in discord. They use discord more than the forum itself. Discord is more convenient so why bother use the forum? It's like when people wanted a chatbox, it would have undermined the need to make threads and communicate using posts.

I feel like it isn't the group owners or leaders fault. Activity does play a big part, but more specifically, members aren't playing their part applying. It seems people don't have a strong enough passion or drive to even put in hard work into an application. That's why people go apply to lounge groups because hey, it's easier. My group is very hard to get in. I've only received one application, and even that application quality wasn't good enough. When Vector was in danger of being removed, I had to scout for potential users and jumpstart the group's activity since waiting wasn't going to cut it. I don't know about the other groups, but in my situation, it's not that my group is boring or isn't popular. I've had many people tell me they were going to apply and they want in, etc. They just *poof* disappeared.

If you say the groups are shit, why have a pile of shit when you can have a couple turds. Easier to clean up, no clutter, brings more value to the group section if we keep non lounge based groups that actually require a good app.

Exact thing happening with Manga. I was told by many people that it would be a good idea, and that they would want to apply for it if it became a group again.
Now that is has, I've only gotten a few applications. Most of the people who said they were going to apply did not.

I really want to be active on this forum, but seems like the chit chat zones are kind of dead, not a lot of things going on. The discord thing is a good idea, make people interact here instead of the Discord, that might spice things up and make it seem more alive.
