I wouldn't say there is anything bad about using them, apart from them not being very secure.

Apart from that, they work well.

If you are talking about the nulledbb theme then I can assure you that aoki won't let you. If you are talking about nulled themes I don't think there is much problem but having malicious code or having security flaws.

So, here a few pros and cons of using nulled stuff.
Pros:
1. You get it for free.
2.Works fine.
3.If you download from a membership site where they provide regular updates and malware free then you will never buy any script officially.
4.Cheap/Free
Cons:
1.May contain malware.
2.Hidden codes which may give backlinks to unreliable websites.
3.No direct updates.
4.Developers aren't paid for it.
5. Guilt, maybe Tongue

I think it depends, like for example anything coming from themeforest and codecanyon are basically open source anyways. but the downside is that some features would be turned off and that you won't get an update immediately once it's released. unless it's a very famous theme or plugin.

Everything can be bad and everything can be good, it depends on the eyes with which you look at it
