Hi guys,

the science is always on the hunt for new invitations.
A few years ago the "Hybrid Cars" came to life. Cars, which are powered by electricity and the usual combustion engine.
With those cars, people started to think and discuss about them.

I got an example here:

This is the Audi Q7 E-Tron. On the paper, it's a pretty nice and powerfull car.

-3.0 TDI engine with 285HP + 94kW E-engine. Both combined results in a total of 373HP
-Audi quattro
-1,7l / 60 miles
- able to do 0-60mph in 6 seconds and a top speed of 140mph

Doesn't sound too bad to me.

I still don't think that hybrids are economic or efficient.
The effectiveness of coal power stations (the main-way to make electicity) are way lower than the effectiveness of producing diesel.
So in fact, you're damaging the nature way more when you're driving an hybrid than a usual car with a diesel engine.
Even though all producers are telling us the opposite.

I'd like to know what you guys think about hybrid cars. Are they worthwhile or are they just another marketing ploy to take our money?

They are worthy at the same time they arent good too.
Their speed is low.

Well they made this cars so that pollution would be reduced and use of petroleum too.
I personally dont like it.
I dunno its price.
If its cheaper than the one of diesel/petrol then yeah its worthy Wink

Hybrid cars are pretty fast. This Audi goes up to 140mph, which is as fast as the 2015 Mercedes Benz C180.
So. they aren't low at speed at all.
The thing is, the way electricity is produced is way worse for our environment than a diesel (petrol) is.
Additional to that (most likely because they're "new"), they cost a lot. This Audi will prolly cost about 80.000 (Basic price).

First of all Electric cost is higher than petrol/diesel here.
So i personally suggest using The Petrol/Diesel cars.

Hybrid cars are useless i mean not worthy now until people starts buying it.
Wait and lets check in future if they get famous Smile

That's what I'm talking about. The producers are telling us that hybrids are going with 1.7 litres on 60 miles. Usual cars take up to 10 litres.
That's what they are telling us, a two (2) ton car needs just 1.7 litres on 60 miles. Yeah, bullshit.
In fact, producing electricity and using it in that way (the car needs to be charged every day) is WAY more expensive than using a car with diesel. (Petrol is more expensive and worse in production as diesel, but still better than electricity)

To be honest, cars have lost their mechanism of being 'worthy'. It's all about money, and how good you look while riding. These people that manufacture these cars have no desire to help the environment let alone give someone a break from pulling dollars out of their wallets. We're paying too much in quantity for cars with lack of quality, simply put.

True that.
Most producers are using some low-budged parts by purpose (like the crankshaft), which break when the car is at about 60.000 kilometres, so the customers have to go to the car service and have to pay everything out of their own wallet, because they fail at waiting for goodwill of the company.

Using saltwater won't last long because of the massive load of water which would been needed to get all the cars running. Normal cars, SUVs, sportscars and so on.
Additional to that saltwater can't get a car running than diesel/petrol or electricity does.
Also the salt in the water can affect several parts at the inside of a car, because, as we know now, producers are using low-budged parts.
There are some more reasons I won't list here.
The wear of the cars would be a mess.
