I've heard that the crypto-currency Doge-Coin is actually alright for making some $$, opinions from any of you miners out there?

I don't think DogeCoin is going anywhere. Nor do I think it's advancing anywhere either.

Just a matter of time until better cryptocurrency options become available and then it'll be forgotten.
Currently only Bitcoin and Ethereum are viable for use.

Not true. LTC, DASH, NEO, XMR, and a few others are very widley used. Not only on privacy concerned sites such as VPN providers, but on TOR.

Most are no name businesses which probably won't even survive for long and what's the point of using LTC if I can use BTC?
