Depends, if you play the normal game without any 'add-ons' wooden pc with Pentium will work on, but if you wanna play with textures, mods you gonna need something like i3/ryzen. The same goes for the GPU, but overall game is running almost on any pc.

For gameplay with mods, i personally use i7 with a gtx 1050ti and 16gb of ram while it's maxed to use 6gb. To run bigger mod packs i just change from 6gb to 8gb and works perfectly.

You can run minecraft on most pcs but if you want to actually enjoy yourself you should get something a little more high performanced so that you have good visuals as well as the map rendering at an appropriate speed/distance.

Depends on what Edition your playing, For Java in 2020 i would recommend at least 16gb ram and if your going Ryzen (which you should) you will need Fast Memory like (3666 or maybe even 4000). For Bedrock i recommend at least 8gb ram and a decent GPU.

My specs currently are:
Ryzen 9 3950X 16 cores OC to 4.8Ghz
32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB at 4000Mhz
2x2TB Corsair m.2 drives
4x4TB WD 7200RPM drives (I do alot of video editing and have a 3TB steam storage drive for 8 people)
RTX 2080 TI or if i'm Editing a Quadro RTX 6000 if i have to render a lot of stuff (normally an RTX 2080 TI has enough power to handle day to day gaming and/or recording/streaming)
Corsair 1600I PSU
