Hello there.

I am having a hard time keeping my site going. There is simply not enough user based content, and no one considers coming back unless they really have to. That includes me. I had it up with MyBB 1.8 when it first came out, but let it rot and moved back to my usual PHP-Fusion since plugins and themes were a slow push since 1.8 was released. Now that things are flowing relatively well, also being backed enough, I would like to transfer some things over that I have tried doing before, but to no avail.

I have not found an official way to convert PHP-Fusion over to any flavor of MyBB. I've been searching for 2 years. The only ideal way is to convert to something that the MyBB Merge system is compatible with. I tried for about a week between phpBB and SMF. The results were absolutely retarded. Things such as passwords and usernames were not matching with each other, but with others, not everything I wished for coming over, things getting fucked up due to unicode, etc.

How can we get my currently shitty site over to MyBB? I am just looking to transfer members and threads/posts. That's it. Don't give two shits about anything else.

Running v7.02.07 ATM.

I don't think there is any real solution. Would probably have to write some queries yourself to do that. It's not too difficult to make a transfer script, but it would take a lot of time!

How much data have you got? Shouldn't matter too much, but still worth knowing I guess.

Honestly, I don't have much. Maybe about 30 members and a ton of informative posts as well as posts between my community that are somewhat worth keeping. But I have done this to them a few times having to re-register for switching between web apps, and I really don't want to put anyone through that again. That is my issue.

I could copy and paste the stuff I need transferred over and deal with it, but I need to keep my members in-tact. I have not found a way to do that and anything I've tried will not give me the correct outcome.

I don't mean copy and paste each thread, I mean you;

- Compare the differences between the PHP Fusion db and the MyBB db
- Apply the differences, i.e. maybe PHP fusions posts column is 'pf_post_content' and your MyBB one is 'mybb_post_content' or whatever it may be.
- Run the query and bobs your uncle

Obviously its easier said than done, but it's better than looking for something that will never exist. Especially if you haven't got anywhere in 2 years!

Yes, this is true. I can not remember what had happened when I did this, but I can tell you I tried. (With the members)

I suppose I could try right now just to test it again real quick since I am running the latest version of 1.8.
EDIT: Just took a peek.
PHP-Fusion user_password is under varchar(64) while MyBB is varchar(120).
Anything other than the simplicity of the above, I am mindfucked when it comes to MySQL. I design and fornicate.. not develop. Tongue

Are we talking credits or PayPal? Because I can assure you if it is with credits, you'd still be getting paid after our lifetime. LOL
