As we know, if PayPal finds that you are buying bitcoin with your PayPal account, they will fuck your shit up (limitations, bans, etc.). But, that may be because they are going to implement bitcoin to their services and they don't want people to buy from other people. So you might say "What the fuck? Where's the evidence for that?". Well, here's some:

"PayPal Holdings Inc. this week blocked a parody of its 'New Money' Super Bowl ad that swapped in 'bitcoin' as the future of money. PayPal, which lets users and businesses pay digitally in a variety of ways, was one of a few financial upstarts to spend big money on a spot during last Sundays Super Bowl 50 football game. The commercial that was published online earlier this month and ran during the game touts PayPal as 'New Money' against 'Old Money' like paper cash and banks that close at 5 p.m. But the message apparently riled some backers of bitcoin, who consider the digital currency 'the new money.' Shiloh Silverman, who runs a video production firm called Silver Park Studio, created a version of the ad that swapped in images of people using bitcoin and substituted 'PayPal' to proclaim 'Bitcoin is newer money.' PayPal redefines the meaning of new money, in this Super Bowl ad. After Mr. Silverman posted the video to YouTube and others shared it, PayPal responded by asking websites to remove the video. As of Monday, the parody ad had been blocked. 'Our vision of New Money includes Bitcoin,' a PayPal spokeswoman said in an email on Wednesday. 'But to avoid customer confusion, we asked them for the video to be removed.''"

So this might mean that PayPal will create it's own service to buy bitcoin through your PayPal Balance or your linked credit/debit cards. But...

"PayPal primarily helps people transfer money in traditional currencies, but it also works with bitcoin. It has partnered with companies such as digital wallet provider CoinBase to accept bitcoin payment via PayPals Braintree platform. Braintree powers online payments for companies such as Uber Technologies Inc."

So PayPal might just partner with a third party to buy bitcoins then... Hm...

So, what do you think? Is this going to happen? If it does happen, will that be good or bad for bitcoin?

tbh, I think more people will buy bitcoin, but the amount of people using it wisely will decrease (yeah yeah i know what i did earlier :nohSmile.

Thank you for bringing this up Smile

It does seem like a shitty way to monitor bitcoin ownership and also for them to get free crypto-investments, but eh whatever I guess.

Could be bad since carders usually go for BTC

>card btc
>send to multiple address
>send to pp
>withdraw to bank
>gg

Well with any online financial service there is going to be carding, that's a given.

If it does happen, it's a good move on PPs behalf but a bad idea for Bitcoin. While bitcoin is gaining popularity and usage, the exact opposite is happening for paypal. It's not a good idea for bitcoin to accept these terms.

Even if they will, it's gonna work as shit with all these antyfraud's services, they cannot work properly even with normal money because of all these blocades. Better is to use blockchain and online cantors for buy/sell.
