A few years back I submitted this same suggestion on another forum and the outcome was an active section with very good threads that made you think. Wasn't sure if the not so mature users who usually make up a forum would appreciate the section, but theydid. It drew in a whole slew of activity and conversations. So with that in mind, I think it'd be a nice addition to this forum as well!

The main benefit of a section like this (talking from experience) is when it is a anonymous section where people can as for help regarding problems they might be having (psychology part). Philosophy sections and post are mostly made out of people copying something they saw on Tumblr and share it. Meaning a section around that is about 90% spam and 10% actual content. (Last time I checked, NBB tried to work against spam, not support it).

Because of those two things, I don't support a suggestion like this personally.

Well on this other forum there was an entire "Reality" section where people would discuss such personal problems. What this section is intended to be used for and what it was used for on said forum was a place to discuss things like (to quote posts from this section on said forum) "What's the purpose of life" "Lucid dreams and OBEs?" "Meditation and it's effects".

I should add, my original suggestion on this other forum was for spiritualism and that sort of talk, but it was broadened out to be called what it is now. Although, it sort of morphed into that regardless

The issue with that idea is what I mentioned earlier, spam. If you make a thread titled; "What's the purpose of life?", all you will get is people posting one-line answers to increase their post count. The only way to help against this would be to have a moderator monitor it personally or disable post count in the section. One of those will take a lot of time and the other will kill the section by itself in the long run.

NBB does not have the correct userbase to even consider a section like this.

I thought the same with leakforums, which is (or was) nulled but with more members. It wasn't too fucked of a section though (LF was the "other forum" I was talking about)

Of the 10% of actual posts, 90% are regular members.

Shitty topics will be thrown under the bus. Good topics will stay on top no matter if there's spam. Good topics will get mixtures of leecher spam, people who genuinely post, and debating members.

What makes a good topic is something that highly challenges people's beliefs and way of thinking, and therefore forces one to dive deep into research in order to reply.

On the forum I transferred from, we had such a section, and while yes there were many topics which flopped horribly, but there were some that were so "controversial", the verbal effort and mental research was utterly amazing.

Two examples was where one stated that depression wasn't an actual illness but a choice made by humans in regards to sadness, and another was made by a self-proclaimed Satanist who said that the Christian faith utterly contradicted itself. Both gave hundreds of hours worth of material and facts, and the debates were beautiful. If we keep non-spammers on this forum, then I am sure the remaining will be intelligent enough to not only spend enough time, but also think enough to create something worthwhile towards this community in terms of thought.
I apologize for everything

I support this idea, since we have Ideology we have a higher chance of higher quality posts in that section as well.
Doesn't hurt to try either way.
