Why not both? Sometimes you gotta raster thangs, sometimes it's best for scaling up that it's vector. If PS is easier for you, especially if you've only had exp with PS more than Illustrator(I started out that way, didn't learn vector things until I took an effing class), then make sure your file size is gigantic, in case you need to print large format-- you'll be a sad mf if you send your file to print and it comes back all blown out and embarrassing-like ha.

I see illustrator as more 'professional' design work ie, logos and branding. however photoshop is way more. creative and fun... just my opinion Concern Froge

both are great but having learned photoshop first, its hard to leave behind. I use it most of the time, but if i need something to look REALLY good then illustrators def the way to go.

I'm way more familiar with photoshop but anything vectorial just needs illustrator imo

I used to use photoshop for everything. Then when I got my job at a print shop, I use illustrator for everything. Photoshop is better for more details/textures, Illustrator is great for the line work and one / few color designs for print.
