Does mining still make sense in regards to gaining any source of reliable income?
To this date, I know of people still buying GPUs andASICS to mine cryptocurrencies.I thought mining wasn't profitable anymore.
Any insight on this?
Thanks.

It's not really worth it anymore. You might eventually break even or make a return on ASIC machines, but it's a long game now with diminishing returns.

It really depends on the type of crypto / the time you start.

For example, mining for Bitcoin is pointless. You won't be able to get anywhere. But etherium mining was huge around a year ago, because it was an actual profitable resource. (I'm not sure if it's worth it now)

I think its too late to start mining now especially since there is so much competition and the popularity is going down, but damn i sure wish I got Bitcoins when they were like 10 cents.

The pros have left, the idiots have come. Do not fall for it.

Mining for people with average electricity price is not worth it. But if you have cheap electricity and you can do research on new coins to mine then you can make a bit of profit and stay in the green.
