I've both used OBS and Fraps. I recommend OBS because it has more features and doesn't lock-in framerates.

Try OBS, you wont regret. In the past FRAPS was also good, but now... OBS FTW!

OBS is the best choice. If it lags your pc, go for shadowplay, not as good, gets the job done and doesn't really cause fps issues

OBS all the way, quite efficient and supports quite a few inputs and plugins

You can use something like Handbrake to x264 encode your output files to decrease file size without losing quality.

OBS for videos / streaming , but sometimes i use Bandicam cracked or camtasia studio

OBS for sure. *Hands down*
You can try Ice Cream Screen Recorder if you are looking free recording software, No Watermark and pretty easy to use. The pro version was okay as well.

fpsRecord is pretty good its free and you can record for as long as you want to.

if you have a nvidia graphics card i would suggest using "nvidia share"
