Osb is totally free and one of the best you can even stream on it ( well that was the original purpuse)
but now alot of people use it to record stuff like gameplay
its easy to setup, there alot of options helpful plus dosn't take too much effort to run it

I used to record my bf plays with OBS. Free, simple to use and easy interface.

I used Fraps for years but OBS is far better if you know how to use it.

Anyone know any good and free recording software? something that would be free, and not have these stupid water marks like bandicam, and that wouldnt create like 25gb 30sec video like fraps does

I am using Plays.tv

I use obs with my elgato hd60 pro. Also like the elgato software as well. They both seem to work fine for what i use them for.

It's not free but there are many cracked versions online, personally I like Camtasia 8/9 as it is a lot like Sony Vegas but with an easier interface.

Fraps is a very good program for recording a short video but it is not suitable for recording a longer movie because the recordings weigh a lot.

In my opinion, Open Broadcaster works best because all you need is a good configuration and it records in a good quality, and files do not take up hard disk space.
