I believe I'm a bit older than most members here since I haven't been in school for many many years however
I did graduate with an MBA. Having said that, my advice to all young people is to get a college degree as a back up
but pursue your goals, entrepreneurial aspirations and other interests outside of school as that is where you will probably
be the happiest and find the most success...

Remember to keep reading, learning (Udemy anyone), going to seminars, makers fairs/expo's etc. for a lifetime of learning and fun!

With the exception of STEM related schools I find most schools pretty useless in what they teach today and DO think starting your own business is the
way to go for those that have the guts. (it's not easy)....but again, having a sheep skin backup just in case to get your foot in the door if needed (say after a failed startup) isn't such a bad Idea either.

One last tip - Unless you get into an Ivy League College and have the proper connections, DON'T mortgage your future away by spending stupid amounts of money for that degree.
In the USA, there are ways to do this....spend 2 years in a much cheaper community college than transfer to a better school for the BA or BS degree, have your work pay for advanced degrees, join the military and have them pay for your schooling (you can join the Navy and become a doctor for FREE ...well almost free, you need to agree to several years enlistment after graduating), scholarships (APPLY TO A LOT!), some States now have free tuition (NY comes to mind) and also ask about tuition forgiveness for some job fields ( nursing, teaching, etc....google them!)

Good luck and have fun learning, it's a lifetime experience if you have the right attitude.

I like school because you learn something new everyday, and if you don't learn something everyday, are you really living?
Everyday should be a learning experience, to grow and improve your expandable knowledge.

I can go on and on about this... Future blog post of mine? Who knows?
