Serious DO i have to backup my exteral 4TB HDD

i basicley use it as my main storage device since its bigger then my internal crappy 475GB ssd but do i have to back it up or is it safe as it is also how to repair it if it soemhow gets destroyed cause i do need to data and most of all i move it around me everywhere

You dont have to but if your paranoid you probably should personally i only put important files on flashdrive instead of backing up entire hdd.
